Fabulous Friday: Halloween Baskets with Stampin' Up! Baskets and Blooms

OK, crafters :) It's not too early to think about getting your treats ready for Halloween. The Big Shot-113439 offers many possibilities to contain those treats for the sweet. I wanted to use my Basket and Blooms Bigz XL Die-113484 to create these cuties. :) Don't have a Big Shot? You need this baby---great projects possible in the just about the blink of an eye!
Also featured here are My Digital Studio-118108 elements. This is what you could call a hybrid project...a combination of traditional and digital elements.
I printed the tag and card sentiment and definition and the witch's hat from the Eat, Drink, and Be Scary Brush Stamp Set from My Digital Studio. Super cool to be able to print that out to use on my project!
Also featured here is one of the designer papers that will debut September 1st in the best ever Holiday Mini Catalog. Get ready...it will rock your world!

Have a good one and thanks for checking in!--Lisa

Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio: Using a Quote for Inspiration

Today is the birthday of George Lucas, Academy Award nominated American director, screenwriter, and producer.  He is best known as creator of the epic science fiction franchise, Star Wars.

In celebration of his birthday, I have created a digital layout with My Digital Studio using one of my favorite quotes from Yoda, the Jedi Master: "Do, or do not.  There is no try".  Enjoy!

Stampin' Up! Digital Download: Mini Project Box

Good Monday to all!
Today I have one of stamp club projects to share. This mini box was created from a Stampin' Up! digital download that is available for purchase.
After trimming my sheet of Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper(117161) to 8.5 x 11", I was able to print the template directly onto my paper. Some simple cutting and scoring made the box go together easily. I added a little tag using images from Tiny Tags (118091-wood, 118592-clear) and punched with the Medium Jewelry Tag Punch(117190) and attached that to 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon(109038). The flower is made with punched Scallop Circles(109043) and a the smallest flower cut with my Big Shot(113439) and the Flower Folds Biz XL Die(115970). I hope to have a video posted with that process soon!

This file is available for purchase to use as an addition to My Digital Studio or with other software programs that supports .jpg and .png files and layers.
The Mini Project Boxes download (120171) comes with two mini boxes and two digital designer papers. Click here to access the online store then click on Digital Crafting then My Digital Downloads to see all the wonderful files available.
Happy Creating!---Lisa

Stampin' Up Holiday: More Christmas Cards using Christmas Jingle

Hi everyone! I needed a few more holiday cards to mail out so I went back to my trusty Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit and even used a digital image printed from My Digital Studio on one of the cards. The sentiment is a rub on from the Autumn Harvest Collection.

This first card has the digital stamp image as the main image. My Digital Studio is awesome for adding special touches you need to your projects...makes hybrid crafting a breeze! Here, the designer paper is from the Merry Moments collection and coordinates well with a Real Red Textured cardstock band and diecut adhesive strip for the Christmas Jingle Kit.

The card above went together in about 5 minutes! Sentiment strip, border strips, and Chocolate Chip Textured Cardstock all from the Christmas Jingle Kit. Sleigh Bells Ribbon still available in the Holiday Mini. The finished card was sprayed with the Shimmer Paint/rubbing alcohol mixture for an all over glitz...really looks beautiful on this textured cardstock!

My "Peace Love Joy' card was created with a variety of "left over" elements from other projects. I started with the lovely Petals A Plenty embossed panel and added the sentiment from Many Merry Messages backed by an Old Olive diecut snowflake from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit. The card base is Chocolate Chip Textured Cardstock from the kit and I added 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon as the finishing touch.

Need a card in a hurry? Try using some of those unused elements on your desk for a unique creation!---I'm not the only stamper with "stuff" on my desk, right? :)

Inklings:

  • Rub ons are great for putting together a quick project. On my first card above, I cut apart the semtiment, in two, to align it as a needed to on the card.
  • Use your background layer to add the special touch of elegance to your cards. An embossed layer is such a beautiful and easy to achieve touch. The Petals A Plenty Textured Impressions Folder is available in the Holiday Mini--it is gorgeous!

Inspiring Designer for November

Happy Friday to everyone!

I am thrilled to introduce Karen Bodden as my Inspiring Designer for November. Karen is a dear friend, co-worker, and my Stampin' Up! downline. This week, she is sharing a beautiful wedding card she has created for a special couple.

I love how she has incorporated stamps from My Digital Studiointo her creation. And, the addition of a vellum layer over the Night and Day Designer Series Paper adds a special touch of elegance. Love it, Karen!

a note from Karen:
I would like to thank Lisa for asking me to be guest designer for November. About the time Lisa became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I had suffered the loss of my son, Jason. I was searching for something in my life to ease me along with my grief. She started a stamp club, hosted workshops, and offered Girly Girl and scrapbooking classes: All About Me, A-Z and Project 52. I have made friends along the way that share my interest in stamping. I am extremely grateful for all Lisa has shared with me...not just stamping, but also her friendship. " Love you 'round in a circle."-K.

Love ya, Karen...

I know Karen would appreciate comments on her card so share the love! Thanks for checking in!--Lisa

Winter Post Hybrid-Christmas Card Countdown 3

Hi all!

Here's a Christmas card I created using using a digital element created in My Digital Studio and two great stamp sets from Stampin' Up! : Winter Post and Delightful Decorations. The sketch is courtesy of Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge 101.
The sentiment is "borrowed" from one of my favorite songs (and movies!) of the season, White Christmas. I did a search for the lyrics and inserted this phrase into My Digital Studio. I chose my font (MDS uses any font you have loaded onto your computer!) and then, chose the Stampin' Up! color to match my cardstock...Soft Suede! Love it! Easy peasy print it out and, voila!...a perfectly coordinated sentiment of my choosing for my card. Awesome!

The snowflake is from Winter Post and is white embossed and loaded with Dazzling Diamonds. The designer paper is from Christmas Cocoa Specialty in the Holiday Mini. Background on card base is stamped with a mini burst from Delightful Decorations and embossed with Irid. Ice.

The close up here shows a shimmery sparkle to the entire card. I mixed a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with Rubbing Alcohol in a mini spray bottle. This spray provides a wonderful effect for holiday cards. Shimmer Paint is available in the Holiday Mini!

All Products: Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Winter Post, Delightful Decorations
Paper: Soft Suede and Whisper White CS, Christmas Cocoa Specialty
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: My Digital Studio, White and Irid. Ice Embossing Powder, 1 3/4" circle punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals
Inklings:
  • A sketch (or layout) is a great starting point for a card.
  • Try creating a holiday card in non-traditonal colors. I love the result here using only Soft Suede and Whisper White.
Thanks for checking in...Have you started your holiday cards?:)--Lisa

The new My Digital Studio is now available to customers! This is a fabulous product! I LOVE it for hybrid projects! The digital projects are awesome, too! Check out this video!

The card pictured below is one that I created using Merry Moments Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstocks along with digital stamps from My Digital Studio! I printed the images and sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out with my Paper Snips. The digi sentiment was punched with a 1 3/8" circle punch.

I sponged around the digital images with coordinating inks to make them pop and added some Dazzling Diamonds for some bling! The accent strip between the two sections of designer paper is Sticky Strip covered with green microbeads from the Green Bead Duo in the Idea Book and Catalog. Lots of fun!

Card of Hope

Good Tuesday to all!

I was inspired by a card made by Jennifer McGuire with this verse from Romans. I love using My Digital Studio (available October 1!) to add just the right verse or sentiment using the fabulous colors and images from Stampin' Up! I just chose my font ---MDS uses any of my fonts I have loaded on my computer--- and a frame from the aweseome array of stamp images that come with the program, selected the color (Soft Suede), printed on Very Vanilla CS, and then cut the image with my Paper Snips. I added Soft Suede sponging and some leaves using the negative image of my Sizzlits Little Leaves as a mask using Dusty Durango and Soft Suede applied with a sponge dauber.

The tag behind the main image is one we made in my No Stress Distressing Class last night using the Little Leaves mask, emboss resist, and sponging. Leaves from the Autumn Splendor set from the Holiday Mini were stamped in Soft Suede on the sponged Dusty Durango mat behind the tag. Hope you like this hybrid card using both digital and stamped images!

Thanks for stopping by!---Lisa :)

Inklings:

  • My Digital Studio is an awesome and versatile program. I am going to love it for hybrid creations such as this one!

  • Save those negative images after cutting with your Big Shot! These are wonderful to use to add a special touch to your creations. Use your sponge daubers, lightly ink, and pounce over your mask (stencil). You'll have a wonderful surprise awaiting beneath on your cardstock!
