Trendy Thursday: Trending Halloween and Fall

Lots of busy-ness going on here for the next few days so I am going to take this opportunity to share some awesome-ness with you from the Stampin' Up! Fort Worth Regionals last month. I tried to get as many photos as possible of some great projects that I hope will provide you with inspiration for your crafting, card making, and scrapbooking projects.

How about a cute little pumpkin for your Halloween or fall table? This one made from coffee filters! Isn't it adorable?

Place some drops of reinkers on a dinner plate...Pumpkin Pie-105229, More Mustard-101962, and Old Olive-100531 here. Spritz with some water and let the filter absorb the color. Repeat as necessary...let dry. Stamp with a flourish stamp(Baroque Motifs-113490) in Early Espresso-119670. Run the Old Olive filter through the Big Shot with the Leaves #2 Die (113459). Take some poly-fil for the center of the pumpkin, gather the filter around it. Adhere a little twig in the center (I'd use Crystal Effects-101055) and adhere leaves. Finish with Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta ribbon-119256. Super cute!

Super Saturday: Super Simple Treat Bags

Don't you just love that your rubber stamping and scrapbooking supplies are great for creating what you need for the young and young-at-heart?! The new Waffle Paper from Stampin' Up! helped me to do just that with these treat bags for my niece and nephew for Halloween.

These are SUPER simple!
  • I unrolled my black Waffle Paper and cut six inches off the roll.
  • I folded it in half and used my SNAIL adhesive to adhere the one side and the bottom. (The other side was the fold.)
  • I cut a decorative rick rack strip for the bottom using my Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and adhered it to the bottom with SNAIL.
  • I stamped images from Batty for You and punched with a 1 3/8" circle punch and Old Olive Scallop Circles for the backing...attached with SNAIL.
  • Dropped some candy in the little bags and tied with ribbon and black string.
  • Finished!

Super Saturday: Stampin' Up! Nite Owl Designer Paper

A super cute project for you today...
I created this Halloween Bingo Game from the Nite Owl Designer Series Paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog!
I'm sure that most of you, like me, have a youngster in your life that would love a special little treat like this. It was so easy to put together!
This pack of designer paper has 2 sheets each of 6 designs so I cut the four "bingo"cards from one of the sheets and mounted onto Basic Black card stock. From the other identical sheet, I cut the number squares from one of the bingo cards and punched 1 1/4 " Basic Black squares for mounting these. Then, I used my Big Shot XL Bigz Box #2 and created a little Tangerine Tango box to hold the number squares. I cut the lid off the box for easy access and embellished the front with the little ghostess from Batty for You and a fan fold flower from another print in the designer paper pack.
I found the individually wrapped gumballs at a dollar store and thought these would be perfect for markers. The empty drink bottle was gussied up with more designer paper and ribbon.
Try making a set like this to treat a special young one in your life ...or maybe even for the kid in you!-----Have a great day!
Supplies:
Stamps: Batty for You-116576

Man(ic) Monday: Tribute to Frankie and Mary

How about a tribute to this green fellow born in the mind of British author, Mary Shelley?

Today is the anniversary of the birth date of the Frankenstein creator. Born August 30,1797, Mary began writing Frankenstein at the age of 18.
This little box was fashioned after one I saw in a scrapbooking magazine and is made from a 12 x 12 piece of Old Olive card stock. some circle punches, and a free handed hairline on Basic Black card stock. Isn't this a cute little treat box?

Leave a post here in the comment section if you'd like more details! ---Lisa :)

Fabulous Friday: Halloween Baskets with Stampin' Up! Baskets and Blooms

OK, crafters :) It's not too early to think about getting your treats ready for Halloween. The Big Shot-113439 offers many possibilities to contain those treats for the sweet. I wanted to use my Basket and Blooms Bigz XL Die-113484 to create these cuties. :) Don't have a Big Shot? You need this baby---great projects possible in the just about the blink of an eye!
Also featured here are My Digital Studio-118108 elements. This is what you could call a hybrid project...a combination of traditional and digital elements.
I printed the tag and card sentiment and definition and the witch's hat from the Eat, Drink, and Be Scary Brush Stamp Set from My Digital Studio. Super cool to be able to print that out to use on my project!
Also featured here is one of the designer papers that will debut September 1st in the best ever Holiday Mini Catalog. Get ready...it will rock your world!

Have a good one and thanks for checking in!--Lisa

Twick or Tweet: Halloween Fun For Everyone

Hello all!

Hope you've had a nice weekend! We made a quick trip to San Antonio this weekend with our daughter. The weather was a bit dreary, but it was nice to get away. Enjoyed brunch at Mi Tiera in the Market Square...yum! Don't miss it if you are ever in the area!

I'd like to share the projects we made at my Kids' Halloween Class this evening.

The pumpkin basket made with the Big Shot and the Pillow Box Die is just darling and the tutorial is available at Splitcoaststampers by Lynn Put. The "boo" Box is a 2,4,6,8 box and card is a shaker card using beads and a Sweet Treat Cup from the Holiday Mini.
Here's a close up...
I love working up these fun projects for kids and their moms to create. It's great to see them work as a team!
Have a great week!--Lisa

Inklings:
  • For a 2,4,6,8 box: Cut a piece of cardstock in half so that it measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Score on the the long side at 2, 4,6, and 8 inches. Then turn the CS and score at 2". Fold and crease on all score lines. Cut off the tiny rectangle formed by the 8" score intersection and then cut on each of the folds from the bottom up to the 2" fold line forming tabs that you can tape to adhere the box together. Clear as mud?? e-mail me :)
  • Watercolor pencils are great to use with kids! Blender pens help to spread the color to fill in the image.

Boo Who?

Good Monday to all! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Yesterday afternoon was my "You've Been Boo'd" Class and these are the projects the ladies created. Included in the class was a pack of the Cast A Spell Designer Series Paper(115677) and participants were able to choose the papers from their pack for each project. Images from the Twick or Tweet Stamp Set(116497) from the Holiday Mini were used to embellish the projects: a generous sized box to hold all the goodies, cello bag(102757) topper made with the Top Note Die(113463), a pillow box, and a Boo banner created with the XL Bigz Pennant Die(113483). Most of the ladies had a special family in mind that they will surprise with these fun gifts filled with Halloween treats!

I conducted a search to find the poem and created this version with the fabulous new My Digital Studio(118108) which will be available for purchase on October 1st! Lots of fun and so easy to use! I gave class participant a copy to accompany their treats. :)
Thanks for stopping by today!----Lisa :)

WSC93 Once Upon A Midnight Dreary...

...seems an appropriate title for this card! I didn't intend to make it so dark but as it developed, I decided it should be a Halloween card for Beate's WSC 93. This piece of Basic Black cardstock was on my desk so I just went for it!

Thanks for stopping by...I've been busy with my stampin' clubs and school starting and I've not had much time to create. It felt good to sit down and "play" ...even if it is a little "dreary"! Have a good one!---Lisa
