Something Old, Something New: Stampin' Up! Vintage Flurry

I was really excited when I found this big Felt Flurry (the "old") in my card making embellishment stash!
I combined it with the new and currently available Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Paper from Stampin' Up!, along with the Presto Patterns Specialty Paper and a beautiful Vintage Brad.
The Presto Patterns piece was sponged with Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso to make the designs pop! I even sponged the flurry a bit. :)
Love the snowflake?...other current options for you... the new Northern Frost Decorative Strip(120901) is gorgeous and the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder creates a beautiful impression on our card stock!
These and other Stampin' Up! products are available in the online store.

Trendy Thursday: Sweet, Sheet Music

Today's featured trend in paper crafting was inspired by a card in the current issue of Paper Crafts magazine using Sheet Music Prints. Stampin' Up!, in keeping up with the latest and greatest, has included such a print in the Newsprint Designer Series Paper collection perfect for card making and scrapbooking.
I recruited my Big Shot to help with this project. The Table Setting Bigz XL Die provided the spiral for the flower and the NEW Tasteful Trim Bigz XL in the Holiday Mini created the scallop borders. Gotta love that! I used the beautiful Top Note Bigz Die to show off this music print. Always Artichoke 1/2" Seam Binding and a Big Designer Button add a wow factor and a simple "merry" from Tiny Tags adds the finishing touch.

Purchase any of these products on my Stampin' Up! website in the online store.

Super Saturday: World Making Day!

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all having a great day! Sorry for the late post. We've been out of town and returned home this morning at 3:00 am! So, needless to say, I am a little slow moving today trying to play catch up! Thanks for your patience :)

Happy World Card Making Day! How awesome to have a day just for this craft :). Create a card today to send to someone who could use a smile---you'll make their day!

I made this card just a while ago using some of that very versatile Nite Owl Designer Series Paper that can be used for so much more than Halloween. Just love that! You'll notice that I have a "blank" punch on the card...I will often do this when creating so that I can add the appropriate sentiment when I need a card in a hurry. Love how my Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon blended with that rockin' In Color, Pear Pizazz.
Supplies listed here, call or email if you need!

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers-113252
Paper: Basic Black-121045, Basic Gray-121044, Whisper White-100730 card stock, Nite Owl Designer Series Paper, Designer Series Paper Patterns Pack (Level 1 Hostess)

Fabulous Friday: Holiday Neutrals

Have you started thinking about your holiday cards? What color? What set? Traditional colors? Religious theme?
So many options...so little time! Well, not if you start now!
I love to play around with my sets and accessories before I actually decide which I'll duplicate. By that time, I have 20 or so one-of-a- kind cards I can send also. Love that!
This one is with my current color scheme fave...the neutrals. Growing up, I was a turquoise, pink, and purple girl, but now I have developed a very meaningful relationship with the neutrals. Ahhh...so calming. And, mind you, I know these aren't everyone's fancy so I PROMISE to give you a variety as we head into the season.

Lots of fun accessories used here with my Lovely as a Tree-Glimmer Brads, Champagne Glass Glitter, Espresso Taffeta Ribbon...Yum!

Inklings:
Paper lace next to ribbon made with Eyelet Border Punch and fibers broken down with Bone Folder. Scrap piece cut from Eyelet Border piece ( I trimmed excess) and ruffled behind oval sentiment.

ink and inspiration Trendy Thursday: Hand Stitching

I have seen quite a bit of stitching on both cards and scrapbook pages lately. Today, I wanted to show you this card where I added a bit of hand-stitching with crochet thread as a border. I punched the holes with my Paper Piercer(116631) with the template from the Mat Pack(105826) as a guide. It added just the right amount of texture, don't you think? To carry the theme a little further, I tied a bit of the thread around the Pumpkin Pie ribbon(109030).

Try some stitching on your projects to add a little texture. Let me know if you have questions!

Supplies:

Stamps: Define Your Life(114950), Defining Alphabet(114952), I {Heart} Hearts (117010-wood, 118571-clear), Paper: Garden Green(102854),Whisper White(100730), Bashful Blue(105120), Travel Journal (117956), Ink: Garden Green(102272), Pumpkin Pie( 105216)

ink and inspirations Fabulous Friday: Stampin' Up! Notably Ornate

Why is Friday fabulous? Because we are talking about the new Idea Book and Catalog from Stampin' Up! , a new fab set-Notably Ornate(117098-wood, 120142-clear)-, and p. 123 which is where I got the inspiration for this card!

The tag is a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from that page in the catalog...just take a look! Oh, you don't have a catalog? Send me an email with your phone number--I'd like to talk to you!

My point is that yes, it is a catalog, but it is also an IDEA book and it is a wonderful source of inspiration!

I used a template from a previous tag that I had made to create this one from Whisper White cardstock(100730) and I used Cherry Cobbler(119669) and Early Espresso (119670) Classic Inks for the images. The designer layer is from Presto Patterns Specialty Paper (117175...gorgeous stuff!) inked with Cherry Cobbler. The Crumb Cake (120953) strip was punched with the Curly Label XL Punch(119851). I am going to try to make a video of how I did that soon! I hand cut the bird and just because images and it came together nicely! I used my Color Spritzer (107066) with my Crumb Cake marker (120967) to add a little more fabulous-ness to the tag. Love this set!

Email me ( lisa@inkandinspirations.com) if you have questions or if you'd like to talk about that new catalog :)!

Other products used:

Early Espresso card stock(119686), Hemp Twine (100982), Paper Piercer(116631), Mat Pack(105826), 1/2" circle punch( 119869), Crop A Dile( 108362), Rhinestone Brad (113144)

ink and inspirations Trendy Thursday: Clouds with Stampin' Up! I {Heart} Hearts

For my Thursday format, I am going to TRY and keep up with some of the latest trends in paper crafting.  Today's card features puffy, white clouds that I have been seeing everywhere!

I drew some freehanded clouds onto some old transparencies and cut them all out. (Thanks to Andrea Walford for that tip and the inspiration for this card!)

I used Dotto Adhesive (103305) to temporarily hold these in place on my Whisper White card stock(100730).  Using a Stampin' Sponge (101610), I applied the beautiful new Marina Mist Classic ink(119668) over the transparent clouds and all over the Whisper White cardstock.  Afterward, I just lifted off the transparencies and there were my puffy white clouds in a pretty blue sky.  I outlined each one with my 2 way Glue Pen (100425) and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds(102023).---I saved my transparency clouds to use for another time!  Fun stuff!

Other products used here:

Stamps:I {Heart} Hearts 117010-wood, 118571-clear), Curvy Verses (119669)

Classic Inks: Pacific Point(111837), Daffodil Delight (119667), Cherry Cobbler( 119669), Marina Mist Card stock (119682)

Accrssories:Corner Rounder Punch, (119871), embroidery thread

Try this cloud technique on your next project!

Have a great day!---Lisa :)

ink and inspirations: Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue
