Day of Thanks

On this day of Thanksgiving in the U.S., I have many reasons to be thankful. I have wonderful family and friends, a home to shelter me, my faith to sustain me, and sweet freedom.

I also have a job that brings me pleasure and joy in that it focuses on building relationships and allows me to share what I love to do with others. This is the heart of Stampin' Up! and I am blessed to have my connection with you because of my involvement in this company.

Thank you for visiting me here each day and for allowing me to serve you!

Warmest regards,

Lisa Brown

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgivcard

I didn't have a turkey stamp so I decided to use this guy from the Autumn Days stamp set from Stampin' Up! I love the little leaf stamp in this set and stamped it in three colors for the border.
All of these circles were cut with the Circle Scissors Plus. That lovely designer paper is Autumn Spice from the Holiday Mini Catalog. :)

Something Old, Something New: Grateful Days

Some days, I have a heck of a time getting my "groove" on...this was one of those days. Don't get me wrong; I am pleased with how this card turned out, but I. kid. you. not. I stamped the three images on the side of the card and looked at it for almost an hour before I could move on! Seriously...total frustration.
Then, I looked over at my ribbon stash and found this "retired" Chocolate Chip Striped grosgrain and it hit me. :)
I cut the piece long enough to go around the card and then sliced that in half, length-wise. Then, decided to go with Crumb Cake accents which led to the Border Scallop and the Big Designer Button (yum...reminds me of a butterscotch candy). I stamped the leaf image (again) on Very Vanilla, cut it out, and pressed it directly onto my Crumb Cake Classic Ink pad. Kept it simple and stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base. Ta-dah...finished :).
If you like it, and because I am so grateful that you visit me here on the blog every day, leave a comment on this post and I'll conduct a random drawing Thursday evening after 9:00 pm Central and the winner will receive this card in the mail. :) Be sure you leave an email for me to contact you for your mailing address.
A few details...
The old: Dusty Durango Textured card stock, Choc Chip Striped Ribbon
The "new": Big Designer Buttons (Deck the Halls) 121002, Day of Gratitude stamp set wood:120835, clear: 121148

Stampin' Up! Holiday: Easy Thanksgiving Favor

Hi everyone! Just a quick post this morning to show you this easy peasy table favor using the Bigz XL Box#2 Die, the Autumn Days Stamp Set, and Autumn Harvest Rub Ons. The box is cut from Textured Crushed Curry Cardstock and assembled with the lid tucked inside. (Autumn Harvest Rub On added to the front panel before assembling.) Pheasant stamped in Soft Suede, cut out and mounted onto the inside back so that it peeks up over the edge. Almonds in a Cello Bag tied with Natural Hemp Twine and Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain complete the box. Everything but the almonds from Stampin' Up! ;) Have a great day!--Lisa

Shimmer Leaves

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share this card I made with the Autumn Days Set, the new Shimmer Paint, and Lee Conrey's Fabulous Over the Top Tutorial! Isn't it an awesome look? Thanks for sharing, Lee!
The photo doesn't show the shimmer but I used Stampin' Up!'s fabulous new Shimmer Paint in Champagne Mist that will debut in the Holiday Mini on Tuesday, September 1st! It's so easy and fun! I inked my stamp from Autumn Days and used a sponge dauber to dab a little of the paint directly to the rubber ...creates a beautiful shimmer!
Thanks for checking in...hope you all have a great week!---Lisa :)
