Super Saturday: Super Candy Cane Christmas from Stampin' Up! Box

How about this super cool, tall box to fill with treats this holiday season? Found the directions on a stamping friend's blog, Sharon Johnson.
You’ll need 12 x 12 designer paper... full sheet for the box bottom and 1/2 sheet for the box top.

Box Bottom, using a full 12 x 12″ sheet:

Score at 2 3/4″, repeating at 2 3/4″ intervals. You will have four score lines with a 1" tab left to adhere the box together.

Turn the paper and score once at 2 3/4″.

Cut your slits as you would for any box, removing the narrow piece under the tab.

Fold and adhere box bottom and sides together using Sticky Strip.

Box Top, using a 6 x 12″ piece:

The box top needs to be slightly larger than the box bottom for a smooth fit. Score the box top at 2 7/8" intervals along the long side. Turn and score at 2 7/8" on the short side. Cut slits and adhere box top together.

I tied a piece of "retired" Stampin' Up! ribbon around the top and created a tag with the Two Tags Die embellished with the snowflake stamp from Winter Post and a Big Designer Button in Real Red.

This would be a great box to give filled with votive candles or wrapped candies. Create yours now and be ready for the season of giving!

Supplies:

Stamps: Winter Post

Paper: Candy Cane Christmas Specialty, Real Red 12 x 12, Baja Breeze

Ink: VersaMark

Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Signo White Gel Pen, Two Tags Die, Big Shot, 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, crochet thread

Super Saturday: Super Simple Treat Bags

Don't you just love that your rubber stamping and scrapbooking supplies are great for creating what you need for the young and young-at-heart?! The new Waffle Paper from Stampin' Up! helped me to do just that with these treat bags for my niece and nephew for Halloween.

These are SUPER simple!
  • I unrolled my black Waffle Paper and cut six inches off the roll.
  • I folded it in half and used my SNAIL adhesive to adhere the one side and the bottom. (The other side was the fold.)
  • I cut a decorative rick rack strip for the bottom using my Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and adhered it to the bottom with SNAIL.
  • I stamped images from Batty for You and punched with a 1 3/8" circle punch and Old Olive Scallop Circles for the backing...attached with SNAIL.
  • Dropped some candy in the little bags and tied with ribbon and black string.
  • Finished!

Super Saturday: Candy Cane Christmas Mini Box

The Candy Cane Specialty Designer Paper in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini lends a whimsical feel to your holiday projects.
How about a super simple card and mini box for a tiny treat?

The card went together easily; I let the paper do the work and added a little Dazzling Diamonds for sparkle. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from my go-to holiday set words, Many Merry Messages. Yummy Real Red Satin Ribbon completes the look.
Love the Tinsel Trim as a handle for my tiny box also from the Holiday Mini. The tinsel comes in Silver and Clear...the silver is "wired" so you can bend into your desired shape. Really fun! I'll try to get a video up soon on the box. You'll want to make these for any holiday.
Check the supply list for what you'll need and let me know if you have questions.

Super Saturday: Stampin' Up! Nite Owl Designer Paper

A super cute project for you today...
I created this Halloween Bingo Game from the Nite Owl Designer Series Paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog!
I'm sure that most of you, like me, have a youngster in your life that would love a special little treat like this. It was so easy to put together!
This pack of designer paper has 2 sheets each of 6 designs so I cut the four "bingo"cards from one of the sheets and mounted onto Basic Black card stock. From the other identical sheet, I cut the number squares from one of the bingo cards and punched 1 1/4 " Basic Black squares for mounting these. Then, I used my Big Shot XL Bigz Box #2 and created a little Tangerine Tango box to hold the number squares. I cut the lid off the box for easy access and embellished the front with the little ghostess from Batty for You and a fan fold flower from another print in the designer paper pack.
I found the individually wrapped gumballs at a dollar store and thought these would be perfect for markers. The empty drink bottle was gussied up with more designer paper and ribbon.
Try making a set like this to treat a special young one in your life ...or maybe even for the kid in you!-----Have a great day!

Man(ic) Monday: Tribute to Frankie and Mary

How about a tribute to this green fellow born in the mind of British author, Mary Shelley?

Today is the anniversary of the birth date of the Frankenstein creator. Born August 30,1797, Mary began writing Frankenstein at the age of 18.
This little box was fashioned after one I saw in a scrapbooking magazine and is made from a 12 x 12 piece of Old Olive card stock. some circle punches, and a free handed hairline on Basic Black card stock. Isn't this a cute little treat box?

Leave a post here in the comment section if you'd like more details! ---Lisa :)

Stampin' Up! Digital Download: Mini Project Box

Good Monday to all!
Today I have one of stamp club projects to share. This mini box was created from a Stampin' Up! digital download that is available for purchase.
After trimming my sheet of Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper(117161) to 8.5 x 11", I was able to print the template directly onto my paper. Some simple cutting and scoring made the box go together easily. I added a little tag using images from Tiny Tags (118091-wood, 118592-clear) and punched with the Medium Jewelry Tag Punch(117190) and attached that to 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon(109038). The flower is made with punched Scallop Circles(109043) and a the smallest flower cut with my Big Shot(113439) and the Flower Folds Biz XL Die(115970). I hope to have a video posted with that process soon!

This file is available for purchase to use as an addition to My Digital Studio or with other software programs that supports .jpg and .png files and layers.
The Mini Project Boxes download (120171) comes with two mini boxes and two digital designer papers. Click here to access the online store then click on Digital Crafting then My Digital Downloads to see all the wonderful files available.
Happy Creating!---Lisa

Stampin' Up! Sweet Pea Gift Ensemble

Good morning all!
I wanted to share this little gift box of cards that I made from our best friend's mom who turned 95 last week! She is amazing! I wanted to give her something that she might be able to use so I came up with this little gift box of cards using papers from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack from the 2010 Occasions Mini.
I used strips of the designer paper on the Sahara Sand card base and chose different sentiments from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I used some retired Sahara Sand ribbon on the cards, but the box is adorned with Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain.
I love putting gifts like these together. Something from the heart, you know? What types of handmade gifts do you like to give? Leave a comment here and share it with us!

Have a wonderful day!---Lisa

Twick or Tweet: Halloween Fun For Everyone

Hello all!

Hope you've had a nice weekend! We made a quick trip to San Antonio this weekend with our daughter. The weather was a bit dreary, but it was nice to get away. Enjoyed brunch at Mi Tiera in the Market Square...yum! Don't miss it if you are ever in the area!

I'd like to share the projects we made at my Kids' Halloween Class this evening.

The pumpkin basket made with the Big Shot and the Pillow Box Die is just darling and the tutorial is available at Splitcoaststampers by Lynn Put. The "boo" Box is a 2,4,6,8 box and card is a shaker card using beads and a Sweet Treat Cup from the Holiday Mini.
Here's a close up...
I love working up these fun projects for kids and their moms to create. It's great to see them work as a team!
Have a great week!--Lisa

Inklings:
  • For a 2,4,6,8 box: Cut a piece of cardstock in half so that it measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Score on the the long side at 2, 4,6, and 8 inches. Then turn the CS and score at 2". Fold and crease on all score lines. Cut off the tiny rectangle formed by the 8" score intersection and then cut on each of the folds from the bottom up to the 2" fold line forming tabs that you can tape to adhere the box together. Clear as mud?? e-mail me :)
  • Watercolor pencils are great to use with kids! Blender pens help to spread the color to fill in the image.

Boo Who?

Good Monday to all! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Yesterday afternoon was my "You've Been Boo'd" Class and these are the projects the ladies created. Included in the class was a pack of the Cast A Spell Designer Series Paper(115677) and participants were able to choose the papers from their pack for each project. Images from the Twick or Tweet Stamp Set(116497) from the Holiday Mini were used to embellish the projects: a generous sized box to hold all the goodies, cello bag(102757) topper made with the Top Note Die(113463), a pillow box, and a Boo banner created with the XL Bigz Pennant Die(113483). Most of the ladies had a special family in mind that they will surprise with these fun gifts filled with Halloween treats!

I conducted a search to find the poem and created this version with the fabulous new My Digital Studio(118108) which will be available for purchase on October 1st! Lots of fun and so easy to use! I gave class participant a copy to accompany their treats. :)
Thanks for stopping by today!----Lisa :)
