ink and inspirations: Stampin' Up! Because I Care

I have seen so many beautiful cards created with this "Because I Care" Level 1 Hostess set in the new Idea Book and Catalog from Stampin' Up!.  This card is my first to make with this set...I wanted to achieve a vintage, aged look.  The base is Early Expresso(119686 -NEW color) card stock...a really rich neutral.  Bottom layer is Soft Suede (115318)which a first inked with the Soft Suede pad (115657) using the "direct to paper" technique.  I just pressed the pad onto the card stock several times changing the direction and the angle of the stamp pad with each press.  Next I used the "post card" wording from Winter Post(111780) followed by a spritzing of Gold Glow Smooch Spritz(118770) ...I really am sorry it doesn't show in the photo.  The next layer is from the beautiful Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper (117175) which was first sponged with Melon Mambo (115656) then I sponged over that with Soft Suede. 3/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon(109071) is tied in a bow around this piece before mounting onto the card.

The image was stamped with Basic Black Craft Ink( 102192)on Whisper White (100730)and then clear embossed. I colored the bloom with Stampin' Write Markers: Wild Wasabi(120975), Regal Rose(105108), and Melon Mambo(100052) followed by more sponging with Soft Suede and a spritzing with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz (119921).  Each layer has rounded corners and distressed edges---Corner Rounder Punch(119871), Cutter Kit(106958). Paper piercing adds a little detail around the stamped edges---Paper Piercing Tool(116631), Mat Pack(105826).
