I love Sharon Johnson's challenges! She encourages us to "stamp simply" and always has amazing work to inspire us. This week the challenge is to use Black Ink Only. Have you ever started out on a card not really knowing what direction it's headed? Well, that's what happened here but I did manage to stay within the challenge guidelines.
I can always use thank you cards so that's what determined the starting point of this card. I used a stamp from Say It With Scallops and also wanted to use this wonderful black glossy stripe from Rockabilly Specialty Designer Paper. The BIG scallops (what was I thinking???) are 1 3/8" circle punches and there is a 1 3/4" circle behind the square scallop. As an afterthought, I trimmed the Whisper White base along that red circle scallop border. I dotted the circles with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and used the white organza ribbon to soften it a bit. Considering the evolution of this card, I think it turned out ok.
Time to get back to working on a project that needs to be finshed before next Saturday! Thanks for sticking with me! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!---Lisa
