Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #18

The Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge hosted by Brooke and Sankari this weekend features the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (see trailer HERE). This is an amazing production...really beautiful! The challenge was to create a card/layout using the movie as inspiration with a splash of red. Well, as you can see here, I've used a BUCKET of red! I wanted to use one of my Asian inspired sets from Stampin' Up! (these are always among my favorites!) so I chose Embrace Life. The flowers are cut with the Simple Flower embosslit cut with my Big Shot. I grabbed some scrap pieces of what I thought were Whisper White...but...it was Glossy White CS, so I just decided to go with it. I slit the petals of each blossom almost to the center and colored with Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and Summer Sun SU! Markers then dried with my Heat Tool. The "greenery" is cut with the Sweetest Stem Embosslit Die out of Certainly Celery and I used a sponge dauber with Garden Green to add a little more "drama". The background is a half piece of the Top Note in Summer Sun. Sentiment is black embossed over clear embossed stems from the same stamp set and punched with the Large Oval Punch. Border is the same stem stamp clear embossed on the Real Red Textured CS. All supplies from Stampin' Up!Check out the Cinema Challenges and you'll see some awesome work inspired by classic movies. Thanks for stopping by! I'll be in my stamp room today working on projects for my clubs and classes this month. :)---Lisa
